Electrocardiographic measures of myocardial function and necrosis.

چکیده
Contrast-enhanced cardiac magnetic resonance (CECMR) imaging is becoming accepted as a reference “gold standard” for noninvasive estimation of myocardial infarct (MI) size against which other infarct sizing techniques, such as the electrocardiogram (ECG), are judged (1–3). The advantages of CE-CMR are obvious (4). However, as emphasized in an editorial by Engblom et al. (5), an essential step before considering CE-CMR as a “gold standard” is development of an accurate and reproducible method of actual process of MI size estimation among different laboratories. Fayn et al. (6) wrote an accompanying editorial outlining the interlaboratory collaborative process used for this purpose by the Common Standards for Quantitative

Electrocardiographic left ventricular hypertrophy is not associated with increased in-hospital adverse events in patients experiencing first non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction: A single center study
Background: There is conflicting data about prognostic implication of electrocardiographic (ECG) left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in patients with first non- ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). We aimed to examine the association of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) on admission electrocardiogram with adverse outcomes in patients with NSTEMI. Methods: In the present study, ...
متن کاملCORRELATION BETWEEN ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHIC AND HISTOPATHOLOGICAL CHANGES IN ISOPRENALINE-INDUCED MYOCARDIAL INJURY
Myocardial injury was induced in 25 dogs by infusing isoprenaline, 2-4 microgram per kg per minute for the duration of six hours. 10 dogs served as controls which received only physiological saline. Animals receiving isoprenaline 2 microgram per kg per minute were labelled as experimental group A and other receiving microgram per kg per minute as experimental group B. Histopathological obs...
متن کاملThe Study of Electrocardiographic Findings in Patients with Organophosphate Poisoning
Background: Cardiac manifestations that occur in a majority of patients with organophosphate (OP) poisoning may range from innocuous electrocardiographic manifestations, such as sinus tachycardia, to life-threatening complications, including cardiogenic pulmonary edema and myocardial necrosis. In this study, we evaluated the various electrocardiographic manifestations in patients with OP pois...
متن کاملComparison of dipyridamole – induced electrocardiographic changes and myocardial perfusion imaging in diagnosis of coronary artery disease [Persian]
Introduction: This study evaluated the diagnostic value of the dipyridamole induced electrocardiuogram (ECG) cahnges, comparing with myocardial perfusion imaging. Materials and Methods: 222 patinets were studied with dipyridamole infusion (based on ECG criteria) as well as Dipyridamole-myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI). Results: Abnormal dipyridamole test and abnormal MPI were noted in 1...
متن کامل[Transient apical dysfunction syndrome (Tako-Tsubo) simulating acute myocardial infarction].
Transient apical dysfunction syndrome (TADS) is frequently misdiagnosed as an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). It is characterized by electrocardiographic alterations and elevated myocardial necrosis markers, accompanied by hypokinesia, akinesia or anteroapical dyskinesia, in absence of significant coronary disorders. It generally resolves in days or weeks with individualized support measures. We...
